All-American Honors for Villanova Track & Field

While Villanova could not take home a national championship over the weekend, there were a number of athletes whose performances did not go unnoticed. The All-American teams for track and field were released yesterday. Between the Villanova men’s and women’s track and field team, a total of six athletes received All-American honors. Three were named to the All-American First Team.

For the men’s team, Patrick Tiernan and Jordy Williamsz received first team honors. Emily Lipari was the sole Villanovan of the women’s team to be named first team All-America. Senior Samuel Ellison and junior Elbert Maxwell were given All-American honorable mentions. Sophomore Angel Piccirillo, of the women’s team, was named second team All-America.
