The Wildcats remain at #4 in the AP Polls, but have moved up to #3 in the Coaches’ Poll. Villanova closed out the season with a tough road win at Creighton and a dominant 105-point performance against St. John’s at the Wells Fargo Center. Villanova ends the season on a 12-game winning streak and will hope to take that success into the post season. The Wildcats are in contention for a 1-seed in the NCAA Tournament and they will be in control of their own destiny from here on out.

As for the rest of the Big East, Providence fell out of both the AP and Coaches’ Polls. Butler took a slight hit after losing to Georgetown, but rebounded with a win against Providence at the Dunkin Donuts Center. The Bulldogs are seated at #22 in the AP Poll and the Coaches’ Poll. Georgetown moves back into the Top 25 after a successful week. The Hoyas are right behind the Bulldogs at #23.

As for bracketology, ESPN’s Joe Lunardi and various bracketologists have the Wildcats as a 1-seed. They are to be joined by Georgetown, Providence, Butler and St. John’s. Xavier is seen as a bubble team by most, especially with its 19 wins. A win or two should give them insurance, but Lunardi has them in for now. Here’s a look at Villanova’s projected bracket:
