Arcidiacono, Wright Take Home Big East Awards



Today, the Big East announced the last batch of awards for the season. Ryan Arcidiacono was named Big East Co-Player of the Year, alongside Providence’s Kris Dunn. Arcidiacono was the second highest scorer on the team, right behind Darrun Hilliard. Arcidiacono averaged 10.7 points per game and 2.0 assists per game. He has the best free throw shot for a team that struggled at times from the line, converting 81.5% of his foul shots.

Once again, Jay Wright won Big East Coach of the Year. Wright received the award last season. This year, he lead his team to a 29-2 finish and set a new program high with 29 wins. The Wildcats repeated as the outright regular season champions. This season, Wright also earned his 300th win as Villanova’s head coach.

Jay Wright, Villanova

Big East Rookie of the Year:
Angel Delgado, Seton Hall

Big East Scholar-Athlete of the Year:
Alex Barlow, Butler
